Redfish -Trout - Flounder - Black Drum
Fishing the Texas Gulf Coastal
Bend is as good as it gets.
You can experience the excitement
of battling trophy Speckled Trout, Redfish &
Flounder year round. During the summer
months of May through September you’re probably
going to see the largest quantity of fish in the
bays, but in the winter from December through
April is typically the time of year when the
biggest trophy trout are caught. Baffin
Bay is known for the trophy trout caught there
during the winter months. Also in the winter,
the big 20-60 pound black drum are really
biting. October and November is when the
flounder make their fall run. So take your pick,
Captain Ron is committed to putting you on the
fish.
Captain Ron
will take you out in his 23-foot Haynie
Bigfoot with depth finder and GPS. The
tunnel hull boat with a 225 hp Mercury Opti-max
provides a very smooth, confortable and dry
ride. The oxygenated livewell system will
keep all the live bait needed.
Captain Ron
has been fishing the Texas Coastal Bend for
over 30 years and is committed to putting
you on the fish. In order to determine the
location to fish any given day, Ron
researches all the factors that affect where
and how the fish are biting. He checks the
NOAA hourly weather prediction for speed and
direction of the wind because both will
affect where and how the fish will bite. He
also checks both the predicted and observed
tides for the height of expected tide during
the time you’ll be fishing as well as the
strength of the currents because current
also has a large affect on the feeding
activity of fish. Checking the water
temperature is extremely important during
changing weather patterns.
Thirty years
of fishing the coastal bend’s seven major
bay systems gives Captain Ron the
familiarity with the bottom structures that
you need at the various times of the years.
He goes wherever the fish are in the Texas
Coastal Bend - from San Antonio Bay to
Baffin Bay, pursuing speckled trout,
redfish, black drum and flounder through the
coastal bend's seven major bay systems. He
is a knowledgeable, enthusiastic,
experienced guide whose goal is to insure
you a safe, fun, and successful outdoor
fishing adventure.
